Learn more about the tow capacity of the Kia Telluride 2022 at Gene Messer Kia.
The Kia Telluride has up to 5,000 pounds of max towing capacity. Excitement awaits any time you step into the Kia Telluride, and the ability to tow anything you want could shock you. The Telluride sports 4 trim levels, the LX, S, EX, and SX, and each one uses the same 3.8L Lambda V6 engine across the board. Whether it’s a much-needed vacation or a desire to tow items you need, the Telluride has the power to get any job done.
The Kia Telluride has 291hp, standard. The base 3.8L V6 is in every Kia Telluride trim level and it creates 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque to supply more pulling power. The base 3.8-liter engine is coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission for a relaxing drive as well.
Telluride Vehicle Weight
The Kia Telluride curb weight is 4,112-4,482 pounds. There are two factors that affect the curb weight for each trim level; the drive type and the number of people inthe Telluride. The AWD trims are the biggest models and end with 4,482lbs, while those FWD trims are the lowest, coming in at 4,317 pounds.
Ground Clearance of the Telluride
The Kia Telluride ground clearance is right at 8 inches. Again, this is a reliable measurement that’s there for each Kia Telluride trim. A lot of the specs stay the same on every different trim level, so you won’t have to worry about missing out on whatever excitement outside of the Telluride.

Johnny was very kind and professional. He did what ever it took to help me in my situation without taking advantage of me. I appreciate the kindness of everyone I came in contact with.
We were very pleased with the service and assistance we received from Dylan. We never felt pressured to make any decisions we were not comfortable with. His professionalism and that of everyone we met was first class. We also fell in love with Ginger. She was the icing on the cake. Also, we are very happy with our new KIA Sorento. Thanks for the great service and fair dealing.
Ryan Martinez was spectacular and super helpful with my car decision. This was my first time ever purchasing a KIA and I’m so glad I had Ryan helping me.
Huge shoutout to Jamie Armenta for making our vehicle purchase such a smooth experience! He went above and beyond to fit my schedule and made sure all of our questions were answered. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another car from Jamie at this location in the future.
