The 2022 Sportage has a 16.4-gallon gas tank that uses a Gasoline Direct Injection fuel delivery system on all trim levels. The Sportage uses a steel unibody construction that creates outstanding aerodynamics for much better fuel mileage on all models while maintaining supremely reliable traction on the road ahead.
What is the Driving Range of the 2022 Sportage?
The 2022 Sportage has a 426-mile driving range on the Nightfall Edition, LX, and EX trim levels when using FWD. Regardless if you select either FWD or AWD, the driving range will change a little. The EPA predicts that the 2022 Sportage should get 23 miles per gallon around the city and 30 mpg on the highway resulting in an estimated 26 miles per gallon combined on the LX, Nightfall Edition, and EX trims, with the gas mileage dropping slightly on the SX Turbo trim.
2022 Kia Sportage Engine Performance
The 2022 Sportage has a 181 horsepower 2.4L 4-cylinder on the LX, Nightfall Edition, and EX models, while the SX Turbo model equips a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder. All trims come with a 6-speed automatic transmission with Sportmatic®. For the AWD and FWD versions of the Nightfall Edition, LX, and EX trim levels the engine produces 181 horsepower, while the SX Turbo AWD trim creates 237 horsepower, and the SX Turbo FWD trim level makes 240 horsepower. The 2022 Sportage remains a well-priced, solid front-runner in the crossover SUV market.
